Whether you’re navigating personal or professional relationships, this course provides practical skills to enhance your interactions.
What to Expect:
Over the course of four weeks, we’ll dive deep into key concepts and strategies of DBT’s interpersonal effectiveness, including:
– Assertiveness and balancing wants and needs
– Building and maintaining positive relationships
– Navigating conflict and difficult conversations with confidence
– Increasing self-respect and managing guilt or resentment

Description:
Caring for a loved one with emotional sensitivities or Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD) can be overwhelming. This weekly drop-in program is designed to equip families with practical communication tools and emotional coping strategies, using principles of Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). Participants will learn the DEAR communication technique to more effectively engage with their loved ones, gain skills for managing their own distress during challenging moments, validation for both self and loved ones, mindful self-compassion, and much much more.
Program Highlights:
– Learn how to communicate effectively with a loved one experiencing emotion dysregulation.
– Build skills to manage personal distress in difficult situations.
– Gain support from peers who understand the unique challenges of caring for someone with BPD/emotional sensitivities.
